New politicians in the US Keto House?

Hi, Ketoers!
Political views aside, I think if we’re here on this forum, we support changes in the Standard American Diet (SAD) towards LowCarbHighFat (LCHF). With the recent US midterm elections, we have new people representing our voices, including 3 nurses and 15 doctors. I think it’s worth sending a letter or email to these newly appointed folks if you have the time and the inclination.

Sounds good, you write it up and put my name on it

What would we ask them to do?

Personally, I’d ask them to get rid of the Dietary Guidelines:

Just get rid of it.

But that would go over like a lead balloon.

Whatever they change it to effects what our kids eat in school or it should anyway and looking at the crap they call food something needs to change

Since they are new, they may listen to you until they understand how the business politics relationship works.

Or, getting a few different letters from different people that all happen to mention the same solution (keto) to extensive health problems (diabetes, heart health, obesity, etc), and that also point them towards some good science on the topic and perhaps share a personal story about healing might sink this concept into their brains for future progress. Always chipping away…

If there are 3 nurses and 15 doctors, what are the chances that any of them (1) do not believe saturated fat and salt are evil incarnate and if they believe saturated fat and salt are bad, (2) are willing to change their minds based on a letter from a random person?

The AMA has a big influence on what is required learning for entry into medical schools. So it’s very likely they will act like AMA puppets. It’s rare to find an open minded doctor who will embrace something that has shown repeated positive results and contradicts the AMA. There’s no profit in health improving diets that don’t require expensive drugs.
