An overall very interesting podcast (https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/podcast/low-carb-ketogenic-diet-podcasts/build-muscle-ketogenic-diet/)

Potential overuse of dairy, cheap meat usage, keto failure rates after several months (and why), body’s demand driven glucose needs and common keto mistakes plus a bunch more. Packed enough to have to listen to twice.

I think this study was discussed - very interesting - RMR of obese people in 4 month low calorie keto diet unaffected…

How about a link to the podcast, as well? I didn’t know Dr. Greenfield was into keto; the things I’ve seen him in have all been about evidence-based medicine. It would be great to hear his take on eating keto.

Added link - the big contributor on this one is Thomas DeLauer.

He actually provides a formula defining the big weight drop at the beginning of keto and why it “returns” within the first month.

This and other details are the background - the “why” - for many newbie issues.

Many thanks!

Ah! So there’s another Ben Greenfield–didn’t know that. But it sounds well worth a listen.

I think all admins might be interested - not everyone will agree with everything but there are some definite nuggets that might help newbie handling.
