Woolwortghs 100% Australian beef. Blade steak boneless. And Australian grasslands tender cut beef grass fed beef premium mince. The mince says pasturefed, free range, no added hormones, antibiotic free
New and asking ANOTHER question
I feel so confused it just said 7grams sugar for the whole day with my carbs at about 6 grams. Percentages and maths confuses me. I’ve always been very smart at English and rubbish at arithmetic.
Our US labels give us carbs then breaks them down into sugar and fiber. Net carbs is the total carb minus the fiber.
So if X food has 10 grams of carbs, but 7 grams of sugar and 3 of fiber then if you’re counting net carbs, it’s only 7 grams of carbs. Some people count total carbs, which would be 10
Is it possible your app is doing something like this and that’s why the breakdown is confusing you?

Yup, I would eat that!
Then I’ve got Woolworths 100% Australian beef. Blade steak boneless. That’s all it says.
Generally speaking, land animals without anything added to them are zero carbs. Some seafood animals are more carby. Eggs have a negligible amount of carbs (like 0.6 g per egg, depending on size).

It counts every thing, net carbs total carbs, sugar, fibre. Maybe that’s what happened.
That makes sense, you’ll get the hang of it, I promise. Just keep reading and practicing and it will click. Six months from now you’ll be surprised you were ever so confused by it!

It’s hard to be in situations like that and eat lunch meat and mayo with a knife and a fork while everyone around you is carbing it up
Sorry, I don’t bother with the knife and fork. If it’s okay to eat food with the fingers when wrapped in bread, why not without the bread? Anyway, my co-workers are used to me skipping the bread most times so don’t really look, they’re more interested if I’m going to give up the chips and cookie.

It’s ok, I just looked up all the foods I’ve been eating and in each food there’s hardly any sugar. It must have just been a rounding up thing. Strangely enough it says there’s 2 grams of sugar in eggs.
If you change it to Raw egg, it’s 0.2 grams of sugar per egg.

Maybe if you read some of the struggles I have gone through on my Accountability thread, and a 2.5 month stall from not eating enough calories in the summer, you will see why I encouraged you to get closer to the 2000 calorie mark =). I just want you to succeed for life, with Keto, not just lose weight fast plan, is all. You are still very young, and I don’t want you doing the yoyo cycle that I did from 11-54 -I want to spare you the agony of years of dieting and I was trying to help you be on track eating the Keto way of eating.
Does this look like a big enough lunch?

If you change it to Raw egg, it’s 0.2 grams of sugar per egg.
So it’s ok to eat them boiled. I’m so sorry I over analyse things. I just really want to get the hang of this. I feel like an idiot
It’s okay. It’s okay to eat them however you want. ONE gram of carbs is more than either boiled or raw. Raw has zero point two (0.2) grams of carbs. That means you could eat five of them and it would equal 1 gram of carbs.
You could eat two boiled eggs (0.6 grams of carbs) and it would be equal to 1.2 grams of carbs. Honestly, though, I don’t even count egg carbs. But you should while you’re learning it all.
You guys are all so amazing. It’s the very first online forum I’ve EVER been on. I’m quite behind in technology for 31. I only downloaded my very first app late last year. I love this forum because I can ask questions without feeling bad about it. Even though my Mum dud keto, I can’t ask her because she gets upset as she did it the wrong way and became anorexic. So thankyou. It’s a great forum and it puts my faith back in human beings.
This handy guide for beginners is a good place to start:
Keto is this easy (aka Keto for beginners) Quick Version This is for Phase One—the starter phase. It’s still not complicated later, but this is the really easy-to-explain version which will help you no end. Eat under 20g of carbs a day (usually 20g net when starting, but for some people 20g total carbs works better). Don’t worry about the scale. All it tells you is weight, it tells you nothing about body composition, even the “smart” scales. Eat plenty of good food—fat and protein—whil…
Dietdoctor.com is also a great resource. (You don’t need to pay or sign up for anything to get a lot of good info.)
It’ll get easier, I promise. Part of the problem is there is no “one” way for everyone. So everyone explains their way to be helpful but it leads to information overload. It’s best to keep it super simple at first. Once you get the hang of that you can start tweaking it for yourself.
That looks yummy, Aimee. I think that you are doing great =).
As long as you keep the carbs under 20 grams, and eat enough, then you will be fine. Please try not to over worry, I think that you are doing great on your Keto and that you have a positive, good attitude =).
Awwww thanks Susan . I would really be lost without you guys. As there’s nobody else I can talk to about it. As soon as I mention keto to my Mum she shuts me off and tells me I’m obsessed. So thankyou
