Negative keto comments

The first rule of fasting is . . . .

This is exactly what I say. “Oh, no, thanks… I’m not eating sugars and grains right now.” Aside from my mother, no one has taken offense or has any issue

AMEN.

Yes, but this diet is going to kiiiiiillllllll you! And it’s unsustainable, too! (So if it’s so unsustainable, that means I won’t be able to stay on it long enough to die from it, idiot!)

In fact, it is a certainty that everyone who adopts the ketogenic way of eating is going to die. I plan to die at 103, with all my hair and a 28" waist! :bacon::bacon:

The comments I get the most of are from people who watched “What the Health” on Netflix. Don’t you worry about all that meat? That seems really unhealthy. Then I tell them I’ve tried just about everything under the sun. Vegetarian, Vegan, Raw Vegan and I feel better than ever. I have heard all the vegan propaganda before in the raw vegan world. I’ve also seen many ex vegans and raw vegans have multiple health issues. I definitely learned a lot though. But I never have felt as good as I do now on Keto WOE. I tell people I’m going to be eating this way forever.

Responding to @keto6468 and @Saphire - I have hashi’s too. Initially I was roasting and never felt cold. Then about 3 months in I seemed to have a thyroid crash - hair fell out and extremely cold. I only understood that what happened in retrospect. Still working on it - cut out raw goitergenic veggies (suppress thyroid function) - noticed keto6468 that you mention eating a lot of green salad per Dr Berg’s advice - if your thyroid is not working properly it could be this. Try steaming lightly to overcome suppression effect. I am still recovering - currently taking more mag, boron, salt (via sole water) and selenium. Feeling better but still not optimal. I feel like I really don’t understand all the things going on with thyroid and hashimotos. Looked into iodine treatment but was a little scared off by iodine reported affects on hashi’s. If I do do iodine treatment I want to work with a doctor to get regular labs and support and this is not really something I can imagine doing with my regular doctor. If anyone knows of a doctor in Melbourne Australia who is ‘intergrative’ and bulk bills I would be very happy to hear about them.

Golly, that’s concerning gnomesb, my dad has hashi’s. I figure it’s a matter of time for me. When he was finally diagnosed I had the doc test me. I went on levothyroxine at that point. Periodically they adjust it up or down. I run cold, always have. Periods of more hair loss. 5 months in on keto and hair loss minimal. I use iodized salt, and take selenium every day. I’ m waiting to see if I have troubles later. I eat dark choc. For the magnesium. Good advice on the steaming veggies. Thanks. Hope you can get some help for your hashi’s

Yeah I ran into that last night at a dinner for presentation. I sometimes mention it and this lady said well I heard it was really bad for your health and isn’t that the one where you eat lots of fat. Which is of course true. I was in polite company so I didn’t point out that while I was having the butter she was having the butter too and bread on top of it. And while I was having meat and green beans she was having the meat green beans and all the potatoes and carrots. And while I was having My salad with a fatty dressing she was having salad too With sweet dressing . And while I had one tiny bite of my dessert she ate her complete dessert. In the end I know that my health will be better and my weight was already certainly better.

It can be difficult to just bite your tongue especially when dealing with huge hypocrites. Good on you for sticking with your fatty, bad for you dinner. :+1::smile:
