Needing to eat every 3 to 4 hours?

But yeah like you’re saying a lot of it is programming because deep inside us all is a person afraid to die of starvation I think it’s a deep process to let go of this fear

I got to my current pattern of eating in steps over months. First before I knew anything about keo I eliminated junk food which had the unintended consequence of reducing the number of times I eat. Next I went to 2 meals a day 6 days a week and no eating on Saturdays. I make sure those meals have the right stuff by tracking with Crono. The claim that keto eating eliminates hunger is not my experience. I usually feel some hunger in the morning. It comes and goes until lunch. After lunch there is no more hunger for the rest of the day because lunch and dinner are substantial. In the early weeks I had a couple of hunger panic attacks and started lunch early. That doesn’t happen any more no matter the hunger pangs. On most Saturday’s I don’t feel hunger all day though yesterday I did have some serious hunger late in the evening so I went to bed early. If you push yourself a little bit you’ll learn to be comfortable with no snacks and fewer meals. I feel powerful when I’m hungry. It’s a great feeling.

Himalayan salt often contains trace amounts of iron oxide (rust), which gives it a pink color. It also has small amounts of calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium, making it slightly lower in sodium than regular table salt .

When fasting the only time I feel hunger is around 18 hour mark, and that lasts about 20 minutes.

table salt has iodine added, and that is a good thing. We need iodine, so a combination of all would make a good electrolyte mix. But any will do non are bad.

@Rob_Grantham

Have you ever tested your blood glucose during one of these need-to-eat episodes?
To see if it really is blood glucose related.
Because while I appreciate everyone’s comments about habit and conditioning and teaching your body to learn to behave differently, if you are experiencing some kind of actual hypo, whether from reactive hypoglycaemia or something else, then all forced eating windows will do is make you feel worse, and it won’t address the underlying problem.

There is a heck of a lot that can go wrong with glucose regulation, and it doesn’t always look like pre-diabetes or diabetes, of whichever type. Cortisol and glucagon dysregulation can also happen, as well as much rarer issues with excessive insulin production. If any of these are happening to you then you need qualified medical diagnosis and treatment.

@Brunneria thank you yes I did wonder that myself. I thought yesterday to start IF again so I ate 3 times from 9am to 5pm and fasted until this morning at 9am. When I tested my glucose at 7am it was at 170. Within 30 minutes it was back down to 83. It seems very strange. I ate at 9. One hour after I was at 86 and now at 2 hours in back up to 96. It seems to actually be dipping post meal. I will continue to test through the day. I’ve never really tested before but my blood sugars seem all over the place. Keto for 3 months. Paleo / low carb for 5 years.
