I am starting my 72 hours fast. I have been trying to start it from past 4 days, but at lunch time, I cave in. Mentally and emotionally, I am inclined to reach for food when anything is happening.
Need Support where I dont fall again!!

What hour are you caving? Sounds like about 16. Can you try working up to it? You have successfully done 16. Do 18. 24. 42. After 42, 72 is easier.
if several attempts fail, try to do leafy greens fast.
for instance when you are about to terminate the fast eat lettuce instead.
Jason Fung’s suggested appetite suppresants:
1)Water
2)Green Tea
3)Cinnamon
4)Coffee
5)Chia Seeds
Are you already doing intermittent fasting? A month before I started keto I jumped right into 20:4 IF so the idea and feeling of not eating for 20 hours was familiar to me for months. There were many times when it was simply 22:2 or even OMAD depending on what was going on.
As a result, when I did my first 3 day fast (ended up at 69 hours to get back on my 20:4 IF pattern) I didn’t find it to be too difficult. Being fat adapted so my body has the fuel it expects to burn anyways, along with drinking lots of water and unsweetened tea meant I didn’t really even think much about it.
I would periodically take a little sea salt to keep up my electrolytes but it also had the mental benefit of feeling like I ate something savory.
I drink green tea. That’s all I’ve had today. I dont feel hungry at all and I am just at 24 hours now
At the 24-26 hour mark try a mug of beef bone broth. If you don’t want to make your own, I recommend Wyler’s beef bouillon cubes. One cube in boiling water is, according to the label, only 5 cals, 0 carbs, 0 fat, 0 protein and 960 sodium. This might do the trick for you. It might slow autophagy a bit but will not stall weight loss. Not for me at least.
I have found, the same as Carl Franklin and others, that a hit of salt (1/4 teaspoon give or take) under tongue every two hours or so, sends the hunger packing. Try it. It’s magic.
While you’re at it listen to this 2ketodudes podcast about “the salt fix.” It’s great information.
keto on.
