I’ve been a happy cpap user for over 10 years, but when I went to reorder a replacement mask, I found that that type was no longer being made. I’ve tried 3 other types (yeah, expensive), but they all leak at the last second as I relax into finally being asleep. Here’s 2 requests and then a little more of my story.
- Can anyone direct me to a friendly forum for cpap users?
- Has anyone tried the TAP PAP Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask? It has no head gear but a device you hold in your mouth to keep the nasal pillows in the right place.
I’ve been using the Breeze SleepGear CPAP Mask for ever. Here’s a photo.
It has a solid plastic piece that you insert the 2 individual nasal pillows in to. All the others I’ve tried have had one piece for the nasal pillow and the whole thing is slightly flexible. I’ve put on these other masks, then put a yoga band around my head to add extra stability. When I’m awake, I can get the mask to seal properly, but the minute I relax that last bit into sleep, the nose piece flexes a little and it leaks and I wake up to breathe. I’m terrified that my current mask is going to break and I won’t be able to sleep. This is the third mask of this kind I’ve had over the years and I never thought to keep the old ones for cannibalizing replacement parts. My vendor recommended this TAP PAP and I was wondering if it worked for anyone. I can’t find any reviews of it on youtube.
