Neck Pain And Body Aches

ketoflu

(Jay) #1

I’ve been doing Keto for some time now and only experienced the “keto flu” maybe once by having a head ache which lasted only a day. (i’ve been doing keto for almost a year in and out)

But the other day I’ve experienced the worst flu like symptoms I can imagine. I had a slight sore throat with the worst body aches which kept me in bed all day. Also, my neck glands are very swollen to the point I can barely turn my head. The flu symptoms lasted less than 24 hours, but my neck glands are still very swollen.

I am wondering if anyone has experience similar symptoms? I never really had any problem with keto flu before, and wonder if it’s caused from keto or just the flu? (i’ve experienced the “24 flu” before and it doesn’t feel like I have the flu)

Thanks,

J

Not from keto. I would have a visit with your doctor. Hope your better soon!

Keto “flu” is a lack of sodium. The symptoms range from lightheadness and dizziness, through lack of energy, to headaches and constipation.

It sounds to me as though you have some kind of infection. The swollen lymph glands indicate that there is probably some bacterial infection, whether or not you have something viral as well. Nothing will help a viral infection, of course, but I’d go to the doctor and see if an antibiotic might be appropriate, because of the swollen lymph glands.
