I have so much energy and clarity,

I dont have too eat alot of carbs and sugar but will switching too Paleo or just keto with higher protein work

Can you post your lab results? Nobody can MAKE you eat anything…
Ask them what the lowfat will do for your cholesterol.

You’ve been here long enough to know that higher total cholesterol is to be expected when on keto even though your HDL should go up and trig down and increased LDL should be large and fluffy.

If it is only your parents you have to convince there are plenty of resources here (esp via Dave Feldman’s site - www.cholesterolcode.com ) that are very convincing, although they may be more convincing to your doctor if they have an open mind and time to read.

If not, just do paleo. You are young (obvs) and metabolically flexible so eat better carbs but don’t forget to have fun… the odd bad carb won’t hurt you.

Got you bro! Ik its not the end of the world and your right Im not depressed or sad infact Im interested!

Maybe trying out paleo and not eating poopy carbs will help, otherwise before any changes are made my cholestorol HDL to LDL have not been checked?

I will likewise echo what others have said here -

  • Do your own research. Good starting places would be Dave Feldman such as in his video explaining how fat metabolism and cholesterol levels relate to each other (hint: LDL is actually the transporter, cholesterol and fat-energy are cargo!) and Ivor Cummins for things that actually correlate well to heart disease risk (hyperinsulinemia).
  • Once you’ve done enough research (I suggest also looking into opposing viewpoints) take this information to your doctor and/or parents and explain the conclusion you’ve come to and from what evidence

And worst comes to worst… just pause it, until you’re old enough to make your own decisions on what to eat, make the healthiest food decisions you can, and know that we will be here if you decide to unpause.

Good luck on your journey, wherever it takes you!
Here’s some videos:

Fathead is also a good documentary too.

Tell them to test again in 6 months and hack the fuck out of that test, Feldman style!

(Consensus is Politics) #8

I like the Feldman protocol just to screw with the doctors heads.

My endocrinologist wrote a script for me for cholesterol meds. I’m not taking them. You can see my lab work elsewhere around here , I’ll come back and link to it later… You’ll see my HDL’s at 62 (better than great, it’s fab-fricking-tactic! And my LDLs are in the high end of normal.

So she wants me to lower my cholesterol because it’s trending down already? If it were trending up I would understand. But it’s gotten better in the past year. So ‘F’ the meds. They can go stick that crap where the suns don’t shine. I don’t take meds for reasons of, well, just Incase… especially with whacked out side effects like phsycosis, or “in rare cases cause death”. Wtf? No thank you.

So is this where it is useful and reassuring to do a CAC test??
