My Hair Is Falling Out!

(Rebecca ) #61

What exactly are you implying?

#62

Getting a second opinion.

(KM) #63

What kind of test did your doctor do?

(Rebecca ) #64

Thank you, I have done so. I have been told that either steroid injections and foam “COULD” possibly help, but isn’t likely. I chose not use use pharmaceuticals. He did say my age (61) is an advantage and the health if my nails ( healthy and strong) is also an indicator that this could be a one time thing (I can hope).
I didn’t want someone new to a Ketogenic Diet reading about my hairloss and panicking, thinking they would go bald, too. Thanks for all of your feed back.

Thank you for your explanation, Paul!

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that attacks the joints, but Mikhaila Peterson was able to put her rheumatoid arthritic into remission with the carnivore diet. So, while it is not necessarily possible to undo the damage done by an autoimmune disease, I do think it is possible to use diet to put it into remission and stop further damage.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #67

It is certainly possible, but not a guarantee in every case. And I suspect that what helps rheumatoid arthritis, as much as anything else, is the reduction in inflammation. And as for going carnivore, avoiding oxalate intake has definitely got to help, too!

These are just musings, however; don’t put too much weight on them.

I appreciate the feedback that you have all been kind enough to share. I realize this is a Ketogenic Forum, not a Hair Loss Forum, so I will back away from the subject. I will continue to follow a Ketogenic Diet!! Thanks again! (This, too shall pass…)
