My 600lb Life

#1

I watched it on TV today, and it was a bout a young man named Sean Milliken.
I was horrified by both the enabling, and the love of his mother (now deceased)

Their traumatic family life lead the mother to overfeed Sean to make up for his verbally abusive father.

I cried!

Please, don’t have kids, or just walk away if you’re going to abuse them.

Broke my fkin heart watching it.

Its what people think without ever knowing the REAL story.

Just needed to vent. Thanks

I’m always floored by the way the family plays such a huge, huge, huge role in the person’s eating derangement.
These poor people are housebound and bedridden and their family not only bring them junk but when they decide to try eating healthy the family ridicules, scorns, mocks, derides, insults and even refuses to participate.
Their desperation tears me apart every episode
Such a tragic situation that has so many people in the fight for their life and their family doesn’t even try to support them
I thank God every day for my supportive, loving family
Monty, Travis, Maddison and Eliese

Now I’m in tears
I love you guys(forum friends)too

There’s an interesting, and rather ugly dynamic when it comes to weight issues.

The public will generally sympathize with those who have anorexia, but when it comes to obesity its never tragic, or emotional. Its lazy, dirty, base and animalistic.

Obesity needs to be raised to the same emotional level as anorexia. People are dying, and people are being abused to get them there.
