My musings on #LCHF, #motiviation and #morningroutine

Do you keep a morning routine? Have you found it helpful? Motivational? What works for you?

Very nice article.

Rise early, coffee, gardening.

Excellent article, Kyle. Couldn’t agree more, although my routine isn’t as formalised as yours, it’s based on the same ideas for sure i.e. having a routine, although mine is more flexible as I don’t have to be at a workplace, as I’m home most of the day. Still, the same old stuff needs to be done every day when you’re running a household!

Thank you! Your kind words mean a lot to me.

As my children leave the nest, I have time to finally work around the house and garden. What do you do in the winter months? Indoor gardening? It still astonishes me that trimming a bush helps it to grow better.

I was self-employed before my current gig, and I can empathize. My employer is very flexible about hours, but I find, for my temperament, that the rigidity reinforces the routine. As you say, YMMV.

<jumps and claps> The Disqus system works! Much thanks!

Yeah, me too, basically. This is more an ADHD thing, but each morning, my PC screen is a blizzard of sticky notes popping up at their regular time each day (or regular days).

  • open dishwasher
  • Breakfast
  • empty dishwasher
  • vacuum upstairs
  • mop upstairs
  • clean desk
  • charge fitbit
  • get bacon out
  • steak in sous vide

And about 20 more, either daily or regularly through the week/month/year.

I hadn’t seen it tested on your blog, so figured engagement was a good thing anyway in addition to checking the system

I work at home (I am a mobile home park manager) and my daughter is in college so, yes, I have loads of time. I live in Southern California so there is always something to do in the garden year-round. It’s been so hot here that I have sunflowers just beginning to germinate - that’s not the way it is supposed to work. I also have 5 hummingbird feeders that need constant re-filling! I am so lucky - I have a huge yard (though sometimes that can be overwhelming.) It keeps me busy and allows me to push breakfast back a couple of hours. And I am blessed to have a husband just as interested in plants as I am (though different types - sometimes our plants clash!):rofl:
