Muscles sore every morning despite 2 weeks off from working out

(Chris) #1

Hey all,

I’ve been doing keto for nearly 14 weeks with IF (16/8). Recently I started omad as well. I hurt my tailbone area in the gym and haven’t been able to work out for 2 weeks but I’m still waking up hella sore. It gets better throughout the day but I still feel it on and off. Mostly legs and shoulders. Any suggestions or ideas ?

How about your energy level?

Waking up with it makes me wonder if it’s to do with your mattress or maybe sleeping position?

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #4

How are your electrolytes? Getting enough salt? Magnesium? Potassium?

(Chris) #5

Energy is good but a dip since I started keto

Yeah, I often wonder about that but not much that can be done I dont think! Once I’m asleep cant control how I turn

Salt for sure enough, I take magnesium every day 150 of magnesium citrate. Potassium I dont supplement but I think I eat high potassium foods. Avocado, leafy greens, meat and fish

Your protein intake may be too low. Achy muscles can indicate Catabolism.

This is puzzling

You are eating keto and doing IF for few weeks. You must be in ketosis.

But if you have low energy and muscles sore the odds are higher that you are not fat adopted.

Are you icing the affected area? That may help in reducing some of the inflammation. Not really much can be done about an injured tailbone (do you know if its broken or bruised?). My husband broke his tailbone a few years ago and that thing seemed to bother him for a long time. Not really much you can do for it. Could you possibly have some muscle injury as well?
