Muscle cramps

Hello all! I have been on the Keto diet for about 6 weeks now. Never had any symptoms of “Keto Flu” but now I am having muscle cramps in my legs almost every night! Help!

I too have been having Charlie Horses in my legs and feet - I started taking more magnesium, I get 100mg in my multi-vitamin and added another 400mg gel tablet daily. This was recommended to me, and it has taken care of the cramps.

Me personally, I know I haven’t had enough electrolytes when I start getting cramps (Charlie Horse), most of the time in my calfs or I start getting a little dizzy. I carry the makings for keto-aide everywhere I go now…

I’ve been doing Keto about the same time frame and also just started experiencing those nasty-wake-me-up-at-night leg cramps. I’ve added a sugar-free electrolyte powder to my water and doing better!

I’ve had this problem intermittently for a few years. I’m also on medication for another issue that IMO may also cause cramps. I’ve found two effective solutions 1. Bone broth daily and 2. Enteric-coated magnesium (Slow Mag) when needed.

Try bone broth plus a bit more salt.
