Most Accurate Website to Look Up Nutrition Information

Dee, I have to say I’ve done this myself for a few individual recipes, (like yesterday) but never considered making up a spreadsheet with my usual ingredients. Like all great ideas, you slap your forehead and go, “why didn’t I think of that!?!”

I’ve used one or two of the apps just long enough to not like them but not put in the effort to “bend them to my will” - Carb Manager comes to mind, and maybe Cronometer (?) It’s been a while.

Years ago, I bought a 2" thick book called

It’s basically the USDA handbook printed out and organized a bit differently. It has entries for generic things like “cream cheese” and then it shows various brands. I’m sure it can’t be complete. For one thing, it’s from 1992, so I’m sure things change. It’s still the book I fall back on, although the online database is getting more and more use. ( https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/ )

I think the brand name is My Weight. At home later I’ll link it. If memory serves, the scale was in the $50-75 range.

LOL I always try to use a spreadsheet for things I do. I love figuring out the formulas and making them do what I want 'em to.

Like you, I tried a couple of apps and I just couldn’t get them to do what I wanted them to do. I know I can bend a spreadsheet to my will.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I found them, thanks!

It is my go to, you can do some adjusting to the amounts in it, so it is fairly easy to use too.

And seriously someone who can only eat 2 TBS of Salsa could be my friend, because that would leave more for me Bahhahaha. I eat it with a spoon, no chips.

This is the one I ended up getting

I wish I’d started using a food scale years ago-the rest of the world is way ahead of the US on this.

Less cleanup, accurate, and I don’t have to try to find the correct measuring cup/spoon.
