Mission low carb tortilla

Are mission low carb tortillas good for keto???

It depends on what your carb per day limit is, whether you factor total or net carbs, and how ā€œnegotiableā€ this food item is in your ā€œmust haveā€ menu.

I factor total, and I wouldn’t waste my 20 total carbs on any such item, but that’s me. 18 months in, I don’t miss them, either.

Ok so I’m not so trusting of the mass food production stuff, but I have this recipe that I have not tried yet but intend to.

They look pretty good and they were developed by some Latino keto people in LA that needed a weekly taco fix! I trust that because they say they’re a great substitute and they know Mexican food.

I’ve been waiting for an excuse to make these. They are tricky in that you have to get the timing right, but I can enjoy these on my 20 total grams a day limit.

If you can keep everything below 20 g and you don’t have troubles with gluten, you might be OK with your tortillas. But it’s a very very slippery slope

I’ll have to try that one, looks tasty.

I’ve vowed (several times) to never buy the Mission Carb Balance tortillas again. As a T2 diabetic, I check my blood sugar regularly. I sometimes have a high blood sugar after eating them. To me, that indicates more carbs are present than the few they claim.

I regularly have meals with more carbs than those tortillas, and they don’t spike my blood sugars. I’ve not had the issue with other low carb tortillas or with Joseph’s Lavash Bread. Unfortunately, I do like the taste of the Mission brand, so I sometimes cave in and buy them again, despite my vow. Only to make the same vow again.

I bought a package of low-carb tortillas a while ago (Mission brand, I think). They sat on the kitchen counter forever until I finally decided I wasn’t going to eat them and threw them in the trash.

I like my ground beef (mildly taco flavored sometimes) with eggs, so decided they weren’t necessary. :stuck_out_tongue:

Or a taco in a bowl, all the good stuff without the bad. And you’re basically cutting out the thing with the least amount of flavor from the equation. Win/Win

They are fine for my wife and I. makes a pretty big soft taco and doent kick us out of ketosis. Like others have said , we are all different and what works for me may not work for you. That being said they actually taste like a real flour tortilla. Just use them on days that carbs are low and you may be fine with them. Again we arent t2 so we may have slightly higher carb tolerance than others. These are by far the best low net carb tortilla I have found.
