Mirror Online: Let fat people die to save the NHS money says BBC's Michael Buerk

Had to share as it made me so cross about people being given the wrong dietary information their whole lives and then being blamed for being obese :triumph:

I really wish low carb and the science behind it would spread faster!

Mirror Online: Let fat people die to save the NHS money says BBC’s Michael Buerk.

I followed the link but you printed the whole thing, no article. Pretty harsh viewpoint. :cowboy_hat_face:

I am just betting that this guy has been naturally slim all his life and has no concept of what it is like to struggle with obesity, and dieting and all the health problems it causes. He has no empathy or understanding, and is very judgemental.

Me too! Hopefully this will be the wave of the future, and the future generations will be more in tune with the real way to treat their bodies, and not have to go through the years of yo-yo dieting and abuse that many of us have put our bodies through!

I think this is simply an intentionally controversial statement that is being made available as click-bait.

Clicking on it will encourage more of this advertising money seeking behavior.

Given the source, I’d take it with more than a pinch of salt.

Yes to that!!! I haven’t read an article on the Mirror for ages. Any time anyone sends me a link to anything I just don’t bother reading

Me too! I find it hopeful that three of my nieces have tried eating ketogenically. One was pretty strict until she got pregnant (which is why she was so motivated, she’d had several miscarriages after her daughter was born). Whether or not they stick with it right now, I think it’s a positive thing that they now have this tool in their toolbox while they are still young enough to have some metabolic flexibility.

Yet another reason to hate the words “celebrity star”.
