Miracles

So I started Keto about 10-14 days ago. Down one kilo, which I know is probably due to the fact that I am a couch potato. But I am very happy with this result. Totally! But there is another thing that blows my mind. I have diverticulosis as the last few colonoscopies have shown. And I had all sorts of painful problems with this, kind of like IBS. And voila- they are gone! Poof! Like magic. Here I was thinking that this was only going to get worse because it can be progressive. Now it doesn’t look like the symptoms were from diverticulosis at all. Most likely it was more along the lines of an allergy to whatever- grains perhaps.
I am ecstatic guys and gals!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS ( already bought a duck which I will bake on a bed of veggies with blue cheese in the sauce, and if I am still hungry- a few strawberries with whipped cream (anybody tried the coconut whipped cream?)

This is so great!!
(re coconut whipped cream: I’ve tried it and really didn’t like it but it might depend mostly on what kind/brand of coconut milk you get? mine was waxy and weird when I tried it with berries, even though I like it in savory recipes)

Thx that’s good to know. For Xmas I will buy regular cream to whip, add some sweetener and make an exception.

So happy to hear it. I hope this is one of the many benefits you will find from following keto. It has been life changing.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #5

That is one of the benefits of a well-formulated ketogenic diet: the principal ketone body, β-hydroxybutyrate, is very beneficial to the tissue of the intestines. Many people find that their bowel symptoms improve, or even disappear, when they embark on a ketogenic diet. You might wish to avoid large quantities of fibre, since it is not really needed on a ketogenic diet, and a lot of people with bowel trouble find that fibre irritates their bowels, especially on keto. There is a blog post discussing this on the Virta Health site.

I have long thought that I was allergic to certain foods. I can get a rash when I eat camembert. But never thought I might also be allergic to maybe grains in bread or something along those lines. All I know is that the symptoms are gone! Hooray!
