MFP bad nutritional data

I returned to tracking yesterday, and remembered why I hated it so much. MFP has so many bad entries for foods that I have to proof with the USDA data constantly. Does anyone know how to flag a food entry as a favorite / correct entry? or do I have to make a new, self-titled entry?

I have MFP Premium and I haven’t seen a way to flag an entry as a Favorite/Recent nor remove it either.

On the occasion that I find something that’s drastically wrong, or not entered as the recent ChocZero 92% Cocoa Dark Chocolate, I add my own entry.

Curious - what does MFP Premium provide that the free version does not? Is it for desktop computer or just phone? TIA.

I created my own food and recipe entries, to ensure they were right. It is not much trouble and you know the numbers should be accurate. If you trust the source you got them from anyhow,

Here’s a screenshot of the additional features in MFP Premium from their site.

How much is the Premium and do you think it’s worth it?

50 bucks a year. I paid when I tracked everything for 10 moths or so. No that I only track on occasion I no longer have the premium. I probably could have accomplished my goals without paying but the no adds and micronutrient details were nice.

Great, thanks!

The MFP Premium features I use are Ad-Free, Food Analysis, Nutrient Dashboard, Macronutrients By Gram, and Macronutrients By Meal - they are important to me and worth the additional cost, but I couldn’t broadly recommend them for everyone.

However, in another thread, I’m currently dual-entering information in MFP and Cronometer and I’m definitely beginning to prefer Cronometer over MFP.

The main reason I started looking for something besides MFP is performance - there are a lot of times when it gets very, very slow and it’s been like that for many, many months despite reports of “bug fixes” and “performance improvements” in the iOS update notes.

I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist…but, I wonder if some of the erroneous data were deliberate. I’ve seen some shockingly wrong nutrient entries on processed foods.

i think some of it is just user error…i know i’ve fat fingered entiries AND some ppl don’t provide proper descriptions…broccoli alone doesn’t have 25g of fat :joy:

I hear what you’re saying, but I tend to invoke Hanlon’s Razor in these instances as a default position:

“Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”

no ads made it worth it to me.

I have seen a whole lot recently where people are just tracking the calories or fat, carbs are left out altogether.
I use Android and I can create my own food, it tracks my recent, frequent etc. The web version allows you to flag foods with incorrect data, my Android app does not that I can find.
