I thank you all, for your kind and informative comments and teaching me a few important points on both low carb and keto.
Although my question had a bit of tangent but mainly was to learn about low carb and how it might be effecting me. I have learnt a fair bit actually, thanks to your kind replies.
My take away from this conversation, in addition to some good knowledge that you thought me, is that I best to keep it lower than 50 grams per day unless I am aiming fully for ketosis state which in that case the good old 2KetoDudes recommendation of lower than 20 grams per day has to be maintained.
It’s been over four years that I first learnt about diabetes, it’s negative impact on people’s lives and in particular, our loved ones, and how it is actually a manageable condition rather than just accepting it as a progressive disease, thanks, firstly to the amazing dudes, Karl and Richard and the super supportive community that has been growing massively ever since, not to forget the lovely dudet, the one and only Carrie Brown.
For me, learning about ketogenic diet, has not ended in knowing what to eat for maintaining a good health. In fact the opposite, it was the beginning of an insightful and eye-opening journey. Off the back of learning about ketogenic diet, I became very aware of my life, my health, the health of others around me, particularly those that I care about the most because the topic is so important that I wanted to share it with everybody (of course I’m not alone on that). This process of course, has been distilled over the years to mostly focusing on my health and what I can control.
I kept learning and since the beginning of this year I have been reading more variety of medical and health materials, taking cold showers and doing breathing technique plus I’m doing meditation everyday. Yes meditation. Who would’ve thought that I’d start doing meditation? Well neither did I, had you asked me five years ago.
Why am writing these, I hear you ask? Well, those of you that were listening to the 2KetoDudes podcasts (likely all of us here), you’d know that Carl said in his last podcast that “whatever needed to be said has been said”. Well, while that is true, I would like add that, we need to keep learning and that doesn’t stop, hence I’d say I owe all my learning about good health, to learning about ketogenic diet, but my God, my life and my way of thinking about life has changed and I am not the same bloke I was five years ago. So I would like to say a very genuine, heartfelt and big thank you to our community and the good people touching our lives to the good, everyday.
