Mental struggle of slowed weight loss and seemingly never ending rains

Finally! After a month of nearly straight rain, there is a fiery spot in the sky. I heard myths and legends about a thing called the sun…

That aside  It is nice to know I am not in a stall, but these last 5 pounds release seemed like an epic battle of Tolkien magnitude lol. I am now down to 92 pounds gone. But the fluctuations of these last 3, in particular, have been making me crazy for weeks now.

Things I noticed? That now that I am back to cycling regularly (ok somewhat regularly), I am floating around the same number. I know - it’s just a number and such a small flux is inflammation or water weight. I know. Mentally I get it. Emotionally, now I just laugh and call it weight roulette. It’s like my body is saying it is happy here and I need to calm the @#%#% down hahaha.

I was curious though for those who work out while fasted - do you find the weight loss floats more than drops? I see the body comp shifting, but wondering if my extended rides are causing muscle growth, thereby stalling the number on the scale.

Just curious. My next mini goal is to release another 8 pounds by July 1st. That is my Ketoversay and that would make it 100 pounds lost in that year. If I don’t make it - eh - it’s still a lot of weight gone. My health is better and I am managing to do this while in grad school for my doctorate, an internship and a full-time job. I really can’t complain :sunny:

I have only about eight pounds to go but still have some belly to lose. 2 1/2 weeks ago I started an experiment just to see what would happen. I increased my running to 30+ miles a week and three visits to the gym for a quick set on nautilus machines. I have dropped two pounds and can also feel muscle building. Still waiting on belly to shrink. I have been in a stall for good five months I would say. I am posting my n=1 in another thread for the fun of it.

I just noticed your ketoversay in July, mine is July 10th. 100 pounds in a year is awsome!

That’s awesome! I only bike 20-50 miles a week, so kudos to you! I too have been noticing body recomp… but the scale is stubborn. Appreciate the feedback! Will go skulk about your thread in he meanwhile. Keep at it! Stalls are so much fun SARCASM

You must live in Western NY!

I can’t answer your question but I can sympathize about the ball of fire that goes missing from the sky for weeks at a time. That’s very depressing to me.

100 pounds of fat loss in one year is excellent. It’s approx. a 1000 calorie deficit per day for the entire year. It’s difficult to exceed that rate without experiencing negative metabolic effects, especially if you’re training.

IMO, you should be very happy, as you’ve really experienced optimal fat loss and should relax about things and consider yourself to be very successful. If you continue what you’re doing, your progress should continue.

I am content - and thank you for the encouragement!
