That’s great. The Charlie Foundation is a website dedicated to treating epilepsy with keto. My daughter has been taking meds for for about 8 yrs. I have been tempted to stop them but am afraid to without her Neurologist being involved in the decisions.
MCT Oil?
Sorry, I replied to the wrong person. I should have replied to @Walidah directly (as she was the OP) to avoid confusion. I was addressing her questions about consumption of different MCT forms. I hope you find relief for your daughter.
No foul. I have complete confidence that getting her off meds and treating her epilepsy with food as medicine is so doable. She is a sweet 21 year old and a joy to be around. She never complains and is 90 percent a happy camper. I just wish I would have had the knowledge I have now when she was little or even before she was conceived. I sometimes wonder how many kids/adults have problems that were brought on by the food guidelines. When I think about that too much, I get kind of pissed.
Thanks, I didn’t realize. I ordinarily don’t use my cooking oil at its smoke point, just as a pan lubricant, but it sounds like MCT oil isn’t a good choice for that either. Yet another reason to use it as a moisturizer instead.
