Maltodextrin

#1

I was at the store today and bought a sweeter out of the health food section called “NeStevia” by NuNaturals. One of the main ingredients is Maltodextrin. I googled it. It does not sound like something I should be using. About it spiking blood sugar. Sounds like I should try to return or just throw it away.

I wouldn’t use it because maltodextrin is a type of sugar. Most powders have types of sugar added to get it into powder form. If you stick to liquid stevia, it’s usually safe and free of additives.

Maltodextrin seems to be everywhere. I found some in my vitamins and In some seaweed snacks. I tossed both. Something I was never aware of before keto. I’ve learned to read every single label.

It is definitely one to avoid.

A friend offered me some dog chews, meant to clean their teeth, that her dog couldn’t have because of choking issues particular to her dog.

I looked at the ingredients. The second one was maltodextrin. No thanks. Don’t need sugar in a chew meant to clean my dog’s teeth.
