Yes. I actually did a 36 hour fast the following day, deliberately, and with the intention of testing that fasting muscle I hear so much about. I drank 4 coffees throughout the day each with a little double cream, maybe 4 tbls in all. It felt pretty good. Eating normally again today with no carb cravings.
Making Keto a Habit
Carb indulgences really depend on the type of person you are (ie addictive behavior type or not) and what your goals are. Some goals are achieved by not deviating from the diet.
One of the podcasts said people who did not have carb ups achieved greater fat loss (physique goal).
People who have been able to get off antidepressants because their brains LOVE ketones
♀ may not want to throw that away for some funnel cake (mental health goal).
Last Summer I did 8 week’s strict Keto (plus IF, weight training and cardio) and I got spectacular results. Lost 19lbs and enough inches that I bought bodycon dress for vacay. I planned to stay mostly Keto on vacay, IF and do a beach workout daily. The food went down hill fast! I started having everything.
I fell off Keto wagon, got back on, fell off all Winter, gained back all the weight and inches. It wasn’t worth it for me.
I’m now 1 week and 1 day back on Keto and I’m not letting go. I’m changing my perspective on non-foods. It’s a process. Some people can do it. I’m just not one of them. Gotta work with what you’re delt.
