Magic Bus from the 2000’s

#1

Are there any people here that used to belong to a forum called the magic bus back in 2006? I am curious to know if anybody else followed the big 30 day experiment a 4000 cal, meat, fat and Dairy. Great experiment

Sounds like a tasty experiment, if it wouldn’t make me the size of a house I’d be in!

They ate like this for 30 days. Both men had trouble getting their calories up to 4,000 so they had to chug heavy cream. Neither of them lost any weight. One of them stayed same weight, other one gained 2 pounds (I believe) but they both lost more inches… Energy was through the roof.
It was a great experiment to watch and read about how they felt everyday.

Sam Feltham’s 5000 cal/day LCHF diet experiment yielded essentially the same results over 28 or 30 days. His HCLF experiment, on the other hand, apparently worked out quite differently.

Phinney mentions a study in which one of the participants, eating a ketogenic diet to satiety, consumed around 3000 cal/day and yet lost the same amount of fat as other participants in the study.

There are also anecdotal posts on these forums by people who found that they lost inches by eating more fat.

So obviously, caloric intake is by no means the entire story. The corporate physician at E.I. du Pont de Nemours in the 1950’s and 60’s had great success in slimming down various employees. In his case reports, he mentions one executive who was so sensitive to the amount of carbohydrate in his diet that an extra apple could cause him to gain weight.
