Macros on Fitbit

(Pat) #1

Is anyone using the Fitbit app in the iPhone? I started to use it this week here are my macros according to Fitbit 6% carbs 81% fat 13% protein. It varies everyday of course but not very much. Are these macros okay? I don’t want to weigh myself in case I’m disappointed but I don’t feel thinner either. I just wanted to ask if others thought these macros were okay.

I’m not sure I’d want to drop my average protein below 15% (at the lowest) unless it was medically indicated.

Oh right so I’ll have to up the protein. I really have to count the grams and make sure I get the right amount. I think I was just being lazy letting the Fitbit do it for me.

Hey at least you’re tracking  Definitely up the protein to at least 15% & you’ll eventually get the feel for the right amounts.

Thank you

Under 20g carbs is the important one, then eat plenty of protein, and you’re good.

Thank you

I forgot you can track food with the fitbit app but it doesn’t matter. I stopped doing this months ago. As @juice writes, 20 grams total carbs a day and you’ll be fine.

I use cronometer.com to look up food composition as a reference.

Yes, when I first started tracking macros back in July (after someone suggested I was on a keto diet so I looked it up) it was useful. I did it for about a month. I think it helps you see how much you are really taking in and then you can develop the habits and ditch it.
