Macros: can't seem to get below 10% carbs

My macros on my Fitbit app always show no matter what I’ve eaten during the day but I’m eating 10% carbs. 10% carbs 20% protein 70% fat. I’ve heard I should only have 5% carbs total. But I never been able to achieve that do you think it’s okay?

how many grams of carbs is that?

I tried MFP, it wasn’t very accurate, I gave up with it & just worked out my own carb level. (in grams, checking on packets or internet). Didn’t worry about other macros, but my protein’s not high anyway, & I know I’m eating lots of fat!

It can sometimes help to have more than one person look at a diet as they might catch something being overlooked if you choose to share a couple days eating menu. Might help.

Forget about percentages. Grams of net carbs is a hard upper limit. Grams of proteins are a lower limit. (Calories and) grams of fat are a soft upper limit. It’s OK to get more fat and protein if you need energy or are hungry.

But all of those limits vary by individual. Some people can eat a lot more carbs and still stay in ketosis.

I use MFP, and it can be fine fine tracking. Honestly, no tracker is without its flaws.

That said, the gram total is more important than the percent. MFP doesn’t account for net carbs, so you’re actually going by total carbs, not net. If you want to do net carbs, you will need to keep track of your fiber and mentally deduct it out.

I simply try to stay under the 20g total, but I don’t panic if I hit 22 or 23, knowing some of that is fiber.
