Macro counter App? How many carbs in food items

(Bob) #1

Does anyone know of an app where u can type in a food and it tells u in grams the protein and total carb count for different amounts of that food? Most of the apps I’ve found want u to enter info or join to lose weight. I already know how to lose weight. All I want to know is how many grams of carbs and protein are in our food. I’m using the USDA.gov site to get my counts but the user interface is terrible.

Hi Bob, I’m a relative newbie. From this forum I’ve learned of 2 apps, myfitnesspal and cronometer. Yes, I’ve joined to set up an account, but I haven’t spent any money for that. I found I like cronometer better. And I prefer to scan the barcodes of foods if I can in order to be more accurate.
Good luck.

Thx Christopher, anyone else have app suggestions for macro counters?

there is also this one that is paid and offers 2 levels, but I don’t use it: https://ketodietapp.com/

I have been using the free MFP app for 4 years now, and it works fine for me. I live in Tokyo and it also is available in Japanese, so the foods are already imported, which makes life easier when I am scanning barcodes.

I found an app called diet signal for $2. All it does is gives the fat, protein and carbs of a food per 100 grams. Nothing else. That’s exactly what I want

I haven’t tried it, but there is one called Stupid Simple Keto that is popular on one of my facebook pages. I use MFP.
