Lreduced fat to 70% and finally the scale moved

#1

Hi! I wanted to share this.
Im a rather small person, 1.6m and 48kg.
I m on the 5th keto month. Everything great and from chronic liw calorie diets ( under 1000cal) upped it to 1300-1400 with no problems.happy.
I was reading much keto stuff, and followed many fb groups. Everyone was suggesting more fat , fat everywhere, butter to everything. So i changed my habits.
Instead of olive oil, avocados some butter and coconut oil, some nuts and a little dairy, i started eating butter. I upped my fat to 85-90%.
Tried to remain at the same calories, but somedays i couldnt. I reduced protein and other good fats. The result was 2 extra kilos. I know its not much but as i said i m rather small and felt them everywhere… i tried everything. Zero carb, more fat, less cal, more water, less salt, less protein( cause many advised me to fat fast) and carnivore( with much fat)
Didnt work out…for a month .
I finally tried less fat(70% or less) and more protein(25%). And my calories 1200 to 1300. And finally lost those 2 in 10 days( i lose very slowly)
So, i guess, its true…excess fat may sometimes be not be the key…
Even at the same calories… that is the case with me at least

Hi Sisi,

I’m glad you’re sorting things out, well done for persevering.
Don’t forget, fat is majorly responsible for you NOT feeling hungry. You should have enough to stop you feeling hungry, and no more. If you’re tracking your macros, you will have a very good idea what this level is.

Most people will have a very high fat content when they’re starting keto, to help them feel full. This in turn, helps them stick to this way of eating through the inevitable tough stages. Once you have a good ‘handle’ on things, you can freely adjust fat to suit you. I personally have around 48% - 52% fat which is much less than some might suggest. But it’s fine for me…and I’m losing weight nicely for now!

yes, thats all about after all. What suits everyone. I m not hungry cause i dont eat low fat stuff.65-70%! Everything has fat in it…I now only add to salads and if i eat chicken breast or tunna.

This extra fat(butter mostly) didnt make me feel good. I felt very stuffed and “heavy”
I m glad this percentage of yours works as well, even though low(as some might suggest).

Adding a lot of butter made me feel sick mostly. So I stopped.
