Low carb bagel?

In a separat e thread about constipation, Sami’s bakery was mentioned as a source for online purchase. If Sami’s was located near me, I might try it but long distance, transit time and cost of shipping etc, has me wondering if it is a job for a master baker or something possible DIY.

Has anyone successfully made anything bread-like with the texture and chewiness of a bagel or something else that would toast up crisp o put and over-easy fried egg on top of?

It seems like everything Keto is all fluffy and even pre-Keto, I never liked soft white bread.

Why not do something like a flax-bread in the microwave for 3 minutes: https://steemit.com/food/@cristi/keto-friendly-flax-bread-3-minute-recipes

Cup of almond flour.
Cup of grated Mozzarella
1 tablespoon oat fiber
1 tablespoon cream cheese
1 egg

Melt cheeses in microwave and stir. Add almond flour and fiber, stir in beaten egg.
Portion up and roll out. bake, or use a hot frying pan to cook. Takes about 15 mins oven, 10 mins stove top

I think I did see something like that on Pinterest. It looked like the mozzarella/pizza dough recipe but it did show boiling it in boiling water and coating with egg white and bagel toppings like sesame, poppy and onion. So far in my experience with keto recipes, you need to just try it out. Some are as they say and then others, not so much.

I don’t think he wants anything containing cheese at the moment given his constipation issues.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #6

When I’m getting enough fat in my diet, constipation is the least of my worries, lol!
