Low carb and high blood pressure

I’ve been keto/low carb for a couple years now, and over the last 6 months my wife had been slowly progressing to lower and lower intake of carbs herself, while upping fat intake. Much of it has been from bacon and processed meat though, and some meats like chicken and a little beef here or there, but typically bacon everyday. I’ve been encouraging her to have more uncured meats, but she’s not always so into it. By no means is she ketogenic though, she still has somewhat sweet Chai drinks a couple times a day, and some rice here and there.
She’s recently discovered that her blood pressure is very high, and her knee-jerk response is it’s all the meat and fat. I’m not against considering it’s those, but with emerging research along with the reassessment of existing studies, coupled with the landslide of anecdotes of people coming off blood pressure medications with keto/low carb, I’m suspicious it’s the reason.

I understand that some people may be salt sensitive, and that it may cause some issues with electrolyte balance, which aside from any specific medical issues is my first thought. Also that high insulin may provoke a response too…

But short of finding her insulin levels (her doctor has now twice brushed off getting fasting insulin bloodwork) and cutting salt/increasing potassium to see if it helps, does anyone have experience or suggestions with this sort of issue?
I’m aware that combining high fat with high carb can be a problem, but it’s not that high in carbs…
