I’m wondering if anyone else struggles with this. Keto adapted for 6 months with very positive results (stable mood, improved sleep, anti-inflammatory, energy, mental clarity etc) but in addition to not feeling hungry I never feel full!! This diet resets normal feedback of hunger and satiation cues- at least for me. It’s odd - I love all the food but never feel full - so I’m one of the people who hasn’t lost weight on this diet - I’m too busy eating HA! Perhaps the fasting is a way just not to deal with food cues at all. Any tips??
Love the diet but need some help!
How much fat would you say you’re consuming? What are your electrolytes and water intake like?
Electrolyte supplements daily - 85-90 percent fat – 4-8 ounce glasses water daily
Maybe some more protein? I only feel satiated when a get a certain amount, too much and I feel overfilled, not enough and it doesn’t matter how much fat I eat.
Same/similar problem here 2 years in - though I think my hunger switch is simply broken regardless of how I eat.
I have to ignore the “Eat fat to satiety” dogma and account for how much I eat - but my trick is to eat that amount and then wait 30 minutes. Usually my switch flips off by then and i’m no longer hungry. My tip (which works for me, and might not work for everyone) is to ignore the “eat until you’re not hungry anymore” thing you read about so much in here, eat a reasonably good amount of food that you might consider a decent meal, then sit tight for 30 mins to an hour and see how you feel then.
Me, too, on this one. I never feel full on this diet and protein helps, but too much and I lose my state of ketosis. Working now on figuring out the high-end of protein allowance so I can get this worked out.
But lindalou, me too
Thank you - I appreciate the feedback and the dogma comment!
I’m getting the kitchen timer out
HaI
Glad I’m not alone!! You are right the protein is important - but all the concern about gluconeogenesis - has made me lean into the fat maybe too much!
thanks!
