Lost 7 lbs & survived my 1st extended fast!

My first extended fast 5 days. No coffee only drank water and electrolytes for the most part. Took my multipack vitamins daily. Had some crystal light here and there and a few nights treated myself to crystal light apple juice warmed in microwave with a splash of vanilla a little erythritol and cinnamon for a hot apple cider. I was slightly disappointed I didn’t get the ‘high’ and increased energy after day 3 that others talked about I just felt really tired and really cold the whole time. Working out and lifting weights at gym was difficult and I hardly made it through my workout last night had to cut it short. It’ll be interesting to see how much now stays off!

Well done. I’ve only experienced that fasting high once and it freaked me out as I felt so good it was scary :joy:

Hmmm - one of the reasons I don’t have a burning desire for extended fasting.

Not so much a fan myself but it’s one of the many sacrifices I’m willing to make to move the scale. I had been at a stall since the summer. One more extended fast and I’ll be at my goal weight and won’t need to do it anymore. Once I’m at goal though I will forever continue keto I feel the best I’ve ever felt on it and I’m in LOVE with the fact that I can eat real food!!

Congratulations!!!

I didn’t fast at all my first 6 months on keto but after stalling out 10 pounds from my goal weight I gave it a try in June. Took a couple of EF’s but I got the 10 pounds off and they have stayed off. I still do shorter EF’s - like skip a day of eating so that works out to a 36-40 hour fast for autophagy and if my weight starts to creep up due to carb creep or intentional higher-carb meals.

Just to add… some of my fasts the weight stayed off and some I ended up exactly where I started so gained all back I lost. I have no idea why.
