This is kind of a weird question because I’ve searched everywhere if anybody out there had lost fat on midsection first and not so much everywhere else?
I’m female 5’4 and almost 38. So I’ve been on keto for about six months give or take. Scale hasn’t moved much but I’ve noticed my spare tires shrinking; very slowly though, but not so much everywhere else. On low fat diets that I did before I would lose face, breast and butt however I seem to have increased in breast size. My stomach never really went away. So I’m just very surprise to see my belly fat starting to go first. Anybody else experience the same?
Losing Midsection First
I think because keto heals insulin resistance, the visceral fat (in our mid sections) kind of become the preferred kind of fat that perhaps keto targets easiest. This is my guess.
Lucky you! Yes, I would agree that you’re likely losing visceral fat, which is great for health (and looks nice too )
I used to lose first in my belly/waist and breasts whenever losing weight. I’ve noticed that with keto, I’m losing more in my hips, butt and legs first. Very weird, because my butt was always the LAST to go…but I’m perfectly happy to have it happening this way.
I’m am happy too, just wish the process went a little faster. It’s just so weird though how keto targets certain body sections or prefers a certain type of fat storage.
Me too (5’4, 50), but only my “top tummy” above my belly button! My bottom belly (what I think of as my gut) doesn’t seem to be changing all that much.
Interesting. I noticed that my side hips fat is all squishy but not shrinking as much as the front belly fat, mostly the permanent muffin top that I’ve had ever since I was a child. I think I might’ve had issues with carbs ever since I was born, my lower stomach always protruded out as a pouch; again ever since I was a child. I was never a normal weight child and of course being born in a country where, beans, rice and tortillas are staple food pretty much every day didn’t quite help me either.
As long as I keep my boobies, Im happy. I specifically weight train chest to build up the muscle under the fatty titty tissue to help make them appear larger in case I lose anything there. So far, so good.
I pray that my boobs go. I don’t even care if i have to stuff empty skin sacks into a bra for the rest of my life, as long as it’s a “normie” sized bra.
