Right, some google-fu would help find a location to do a dexa or get your doc to send you for one.

Also if you need labs and don’t want to go to the doc, www.requestatest.com will do that for you.

I used http://www.lifeextension.com and they seem slightly cheaper for the tests I took compared to requestatest (and several others I looked at). Definitely shop around.

What are the options if you live in a restricted state? Can I drive to Connecticut or am I limited because I am still a resident of a restricted state?

@EZB, I know my daughter got one at a sports fitness clinic. I plan to go there. It costs about $50.

Hi @betsy.rome… your question is a good one and I take your point. I have about 3 points of comparison over the past year. The suggestion of self=monitoring for blood sugars seemed like a good alternative.

Darcy, I liked reading these posts/responses to dawn’s queries. I think you may be becoming a bit of a guru yourself! Great advice here and commentary on your own experiments, it’s really helpful.

Funny how even though you hear something over and over, read through posts and listen to podcasts etc, it still helps again and again when you see someone repeat the concepts you are trying to fully grasp!

Thanks Darcy

LOL Helewisa, but thank you. I have learned so much here, just want to pay it forward a little if I can. What you say is true, I keep re-learning or looking at things from a different perspective when we discuss them here.

Hi Betsy- I happened to have 2 HBa1c’s drawn on the same day at different labs and they were 5.7 at one and 6.0 at the other one. This was not too reassuring to me. :smirk:

I googled it and found one easy. Actually had it done today. It took about 5 minutes- super easy. @VLC.MD I paid $75 for mine.
