Looking for good calculator macro for keto recipes

food

(Marlene Moleon) #1

I like to cook, and I want to start a blog of my own Keto recipes.
I don’t like My fitness pal, is not accurate.
Any suggestion for app or software for calculate macros?

USDA is the gold standard:
https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/

If you use a lot of packaged goods, you will have to use the labels from the goods.

I used to use Fitday, which has the USDA database, enter my recipe as a day, and use the day’s macros to save as a recipe.

I find MFP is a lot easier, given the recipe builder. MFP has the USDA database as well. It’s just a question of how you search. I use USDA as a search term, with whatever I’m searching for, so Strawberries Raw USDA is how I search.

USDA is not perfect, but yeah it’s the best we got.

Chronometer is the best that I know of.

Thanks a lot. I am going to explore your recommendations

Has MFP include net carb on Recipe Builder?

No, but how hard is Total Carb - Fiber?

I started with carb manager. I use it but it doesn’t connect to my fitness tracker so moved to MyFitnessPal.

I love cronometer.com. Uses USDA plus information supplied by manufacturer. And you can scan products.

For personal use you can set your own macros and add in exercise.

This is all in the free version!
