Looking for an open minded urogolist or oncologist in Quebec

Though I am only 51, I already have an aggressive cancer (PSA of 80) developing in my prostate.
While meeting my urologist yesterday, I told him that before we start with destructive approaches like chemotherapy, I would like to try out a more gentle approach through Keto and hyperbarric chambers and see if those work.

He immediately dismissed those as “not working” and wasn’t interested in discussing this further. I have to meet him again in two weeks but I know I am wasting my time with him.

I would like to repeat the success story of Mark Miller who beat his own prostate cancer but I don’t know where to find a urologist or oncologist that will help me try out keto and hyperbarric chamber as part of the therapy. Is there a channel that anyone here might know where I could be put in touch with that kind of doctor?

I just can’t picture jumping into chemo or surgery without having given gentler methods a chance. But I can’t do that without a doctor who is willing to take a MRI of the cancer, allow me to try keto + hyperbaric chamber + fasting for a certain period of time and then take another MRI and another PSA test to see if my efforts are showing signs of working or to know if they were in vain and I should then use conventional therapy.

The problem is while giving more gentle methods a chance, your cancer wont be sitting there waiting but actively and aggressively taking over your body. So I agree with your doctor and would also dismiss your idea of avoiding chemotherapy just because you are afraid of it. There is a lot of healing going on in the treatment of cancer nowadays. Many many cancer survivors are around who would be dead just 20 -30 years ago. Don`t miss your chance. If you want to do anything else - do it parallel to your chemo and the conventional therapies that have been found to actually help patents with your illness…

Hi Chantarella,

Thanks for writing and be assured that I am not readily dismissing any conventional therapy. I just don’t want to irradiate or burn my body’s cells, especially the good ones unless I have no other options.

As I had mentioned, I am meeting with my current urologist once more in 2 weeks and at that point he will hopefully be providing me more info on exactly how aggressive my cancer is.

If the doctor tells me something horrible like its a matter of a couple of weeks before it is too late, of course I will resign myself to undergo chemo or whatever else is absolutely and immediately necessary .

But if he tells me that I have a large enough window of opportunity, say of at least several months, would I be nuts to want to have a try in shrinking the tumor as much as possible through non harmful means (Keto, fasting, exogeneous ketons, alpha lipoid acid, hyperbaric chambers,…)?

Of course to know if these things end up being helpful in my case, I do need to have the support from a doctor that is willing to run tests on me every X weeks/months to see how things look versus the previous series of test.

This is wishful thinking on your part. It isnt real, sir. You have an old and antiquated view of the process. Cancer therapies have made huge strides and much is new and milder than ever.
I have had cancer and I have been irradiated and it has been over 5 years and I am fine.
I know men who are on chemo with prostate cancer who have kept all their hair and are out playing bridge during their chemo.
It IS getting too late. Be glad you have the options of irradiation or chemo. I would be dead otherwise today. Trust me and trust your doctor- get the therapy you need to be a survivor. There are more and more cancer survivors today and it is not due to any alternative medicines but due to what the doctors have found to work.
