Long time lurker ready to come outta the shadows!

What kind are they? My Kiya is a modern wedge chocolate point Siamese. She has the best personality and she loves to talk. Siamese are my love.

(Khara) #42

Yes. She was actually a pound kitty. Was found on the streets along with the rest of her litter. When we first took her to the vet, she was listed as a lilac point Himalayan. She was tiny then and other than coloring and blue eyes her features weren’t real prevalent. As the years went by I realized she was a Ragdoll. Awesome personality. Suuuuper floppy.:blush::slight_smile: And curly hair. Like I said above, we think she might’ve had a little something else mixed in cause she could have an attitude with strangers, but it also could’ve just been that she was feral early on. I miss her. Best kitty in the world. I’d like to have another Ragdoll some day.

Brilliant idea!

The cross eyed Siamese, love it! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

#45

How much do you have to lose? Have you tried modifying your diet?

#46

This is our current kit kat Oliver (aka Scottie). We also have 3 doggos so it’s a full house! Idk how we got stuck with 3 pups cause I much prefer cats. I lost my best friend, a black cat by the name of Spooky Boo back in 2017 from kidney failure. He was a real special guy!

O. M. G. Adorable! I want to come over!

(Khara) #48

Posted as soon as I saw the pics, before reading all. So sorry for your loss. I know how that is. Animals are such special friends. I’m glad that us humans and them have that together.

(Khara) #49

So your Scottish Fold. Is he pretty floppy/relaxed when you pick him up? He sits the same way my Ragdoll liked to sit in my arms, kind of like a baby. One of her many nicknames was floppy cat. Also, does he seem to hear fine?

I only have about 15-20 pounds that I need to lose. Currently, I’ve stopped all dairy and I’m adding some fasting days (more than the 24 hour fasts I’ve been doing). I have a lot of health problems, and I’m almost 60, so its not going to be easy this time. What I really want to do is correct the insulin resistance that I’m sure I’ve caused with all my weight loss and binges over the years.

#51

Yeah, he sort of feels floppy and his tail sags. He’s also not the best of jumpers. He hears just fine though. He’s not a fan of being picked up or smothered but he will follow us from room to room and is awesome with my (almost) 2yr old. He also plays keyboard

I have lots more to lose than 15-20 lbs so that could explain my quick losses. I do expect that to slow at some point. I assume you know your macros and are eating enough?

(MooBoom) #53

@Azure she sounds gorgeous! I love Siamese too but genetically they are a ticking time bomb in Australia- not enough genetic diversity.

My three boys are all Tonkinese, best of both the Siamese and Burmese breeds :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. Mimi (our only girl) is a Burmilla (Burmese x Persian Chinchilla).

Yes, I’m close to being carnivore, I get plenty of healthy fats, and I try to eat enough, but I’m so not hungry on this WOE, and I tend to get full easily when I do eat. If I force myself to eat more food I just end up getting nauseous. I am being closely monitored by my physician who is a wholistic cardiologist and encouraged me to get back on Keto and incorporate some EF. I look thin, but I know I have fatty liver, and my organs all have deposits of fat, so I know I have work to do to be healthy. Since I’ve seen some rearranging of my body, my stomach is getting smaller and my upper arms and jowls are shrinking, I know it’s working. I’m just impatient to be my normal weight again. This old body is healing very slowly, but I know it’s healing!

I have to fight this feeling occasionally. Just wish I were thin - now! :grimacing: Got three weddings coming up this summer and would love to be able to get a gorgeous dress. When I was thin, I could wear a sack and look great. Can’t wait to get back there.

Definitely different cats then.
Spike (my black) is THE biggest cat I have ever seen or had (and I’ve had a few over the years). Even had vets commenting on him and asking if he’s half panther!
Luckily he’s a bit of a derpy thing, so no threat to the other cats in neighbourhood. If he was a fighter, I think the local vets would offer to sponsor him, he’d destroy all opposition! He’s my big black apath, and I love him.

(Jane- Old Inky Crone) #57

Yes, Doodle is a little guy. He is a year old, so I don’t expect him to get much bigger. I wonder if your giant black panther is mixed with some very large breed?

#58

I have no idea.
He was a farm kitten and taken from his mum too soon (probably why he’s a derp, didn’t get they mother love he needed).
Apparently, around the village near the farm, in the past theres been reports of an escaped big black cat, possibly a panther. (We get them from time to time in various parts of country, but no one ever captures the animal, no corpse is every found and the photos are never clear enough to be conclusive.) I doubt it was a panther, but possible that Spike is a descendant of whatever it was.

Where are you?

I’m in UK.
On the North Yorkshire coast.
