Letters to people I will never send

(Heather Meyer) #1

I figure their should be a thread dedicated to writing letters to people we will never send. I am sure we have come across people we would love to tell off or tell our real feelings to about how we feel about them and their opinions of Keto or opinions about our body image. However we more than likely dont in order to preserve relationships or friendships. Holding in that anger or true feelings can become toxic and letting it out could be very theraputic. So feel free to do so.

** Please make sure to only use their first name initial or think of a fake name for them to keep cnfidential. This is not meant to be a place to bash people but rather, a place to express emotions. Please do not use attacking language!**

Dear G,

I listened to you talking about a lady in our church. When someone asked you who she was, instesd of saying her name…you said she was “the big frumpy one with curly hair”. You didnt even use her name like she was a person. For a Pastor of a church to speak about a congregation member like that is so disheartening. It makes me wonder…if you look at her like that…then what do you secretly say to me behind my back? You preach that we arent supposed to judge others and yet you judge a person by their appearence. I thought you were supposed to be a living example to others…guess not. One thing i know… i will never talk about a person as if they a “thing” rather than a person. I wont judge like that. Its too bad i cant tell you how i feel…it will always be your word against mine. Guess you will never know why i stopped going to your church. I hope no one has to encounter what i did that day. I hope you think better of people some day.

This is the letter i will never send

Many years ago I wrote a letter like this, to my great aunt who had said some very hurtful things (like accusing me of imagining my pregnancy) and left it in a drawer never to be posted or read. Then when I was in hospital having delivered my “imaginary” son on Jan 5th 1996, my now ex husband found it in the drawer and posted it to her…

"Dear Doctor,

"You are absolutely bonkers when you claim that eating beef causes diabetes. I dare you to cite even one randomized, controlled study that proves this.

“Why don’t you get out of your vegan agenda and take a look at some real research for a change? You might actually learn something. But of course, that would conflict with what you’ve already decided is the truth. So much for scientific objectivity, huh?”

Oh please send that one…!

Dear Gym Enthusiast People

Guess what? Did you know that the gym is actually meant for people who want to get into shape?! What a stellar concept! So when you stare at me and make comments as I lift my weights in front of the mirror…remember that! I’m not at the gym because I am lazy or because I dont care about my appearence or because I want to pick up dudes. I am actually there to get fit! To improve my health! To feel better about myself! So if you have a problem with an obese female squished into a pair of yoga pants or bike shorts and a tee, rockin out at the weight rack and building some muscle… PLEASE… take the next available EXIT.

The letter i cant send cause i dont know your address but totally would send in a heartbeat.

“Dear Family, Christmas with you is shit, you’re all a bunch of wankers, and I’m sick of tired of the same old drunken obnoxious behaviour you ALL display on the 25th. I’ve no further interest in any participation. Regards, Alex”

:joy:

Haha brilliant!

“PS - put your phone down and stop looking at yourself in the wall mirrors and flexing your mediocre biceps you loser”

With a photo showing the described events!

There, I fixed it a bit

I haven’t done family Christmas for a long time. It’s awesome.

LOL… yeah I did originally think of putting `Kind regards’ - decided that was unrealistic!
