Less need for caffeine?

I’m just getting back into Keto after getting sidetracked for a while.

I’ve had a few false starts… here’s hoping this is not another one.

I’ve noticed when I start doing Keto that I don’t need Energy drinks anymore (Sugar-free Monster, Rockstar, redbull, etc.).

I never had any serious health effects that I know of - but years ago, I was drinking ten 16-oz energy drinks a day or more (for probably the better part of a year). I think while I was on Ideal Protein, my counselor recommended I reduce my consumption, and I dropped down to two per day, and I’ve varied from 2 to 4 per day since then. Frankly, it just seems like there is a lot of “stuff” in them, and I’d just like to not need them.

Every time I’ve spent more than 3 days getting into Keto, I notice after the 3rd day or that I don’t wake up in “Zombie mode” (pretty much the reason why I drink them to begin with). I don’t “need” energy drinks now, and I’m down now to 2 cups of regular coffee per day (usually the first an hour or so after waking, because I’m actually functional now when I wake up).

Good for you! You are paying attention to your body and understanding the connections of food how you feel. You’re already ahead of the game. You got this!

I have no ill effects from 30 ounces of coffee each day. Just skip the sweetener.
