A while back I posted in “show me the science” looking for help about how to persuade my husband to join me on my Keto journey I’ve been Keto since October.
Most of the replies I received were exactly what I thought he needed lots of science and data which he grudgingly read but refused to be convinced.
A couple of the replies suggested I lead by example. After trying so hard I eventually stopped talking about how great Keto was and it turns out this was what he needed!
Yesterday he announced completely out of the blue he was going to start Keto today.
I couldn’t be happier
Grateful to ketogenic forums for being such an amazing resource.
Best wishes to all x

That’s a non-scale victory if ever there was one.
BTW, men never do what their spouse tells them—and it makes no difference which sex the spouse is!
(Bitter? Perhaps a tad. )
I’m finding that my husband understands Keto, and agrees it is great; he just likes his bread and fruit juices too much to give them up. In the mean time, he is enjoying the special Keto things I make for myself. (to my chagrin, eating them and his regular diet, too)
So I think we’re going to have a little chat. I don’t think it’s healthy to be eating unrestricted bacon and sausage balls, along with his cereal, potatoes and toast.
Hopefully he will soon get on board the Keto train willingly.
Definitely not good for him at all Diana! You’re right; high carb plus high fat is a recipe for disaster. Time for him to make a decision or you only make enough LCHF for one person (YOU) if he doesn’t want to convert.
My hubby doesn’t need to lose weight at all but wants the energy and mental clarity I now enjoy so started keto on return from our holiday in mid June. He’s not as strict as I am re carbs (he still enjoys beer when out with friends) but is doing well really. Hasn’t yet reached the magic pill stage of being fat adapted but hopefully only a couple of weeks away . Good luck with your hubby!!! Ali
