Carb withdrawal? If you provide more details of what/how much you’re eating, your activities, sleep pattern(s), etc other possibilities might appear.

I’ve been back on it for 3 weeks and I’ve never had this b4, I’d go off and back on np
I eat lunch and dinner and IF bout 15 hrs a day
Sleep is great 7-9 hrs and when I sleep it’s straight thru til Alarm :woman_shrugging:

My best current guess, then, is carb withdrawal. If you did not experience it previously be grateful; you’re a little older now and that matters. Do you have any health issues? Without knowing how much and what specific foods you’re eating, your IF and eating window might be an issue but I’ll let those with more experience and knowledge discuss that with you. They will want to know how much and what specific foods you’re eating, so be prepared to provide that info. I do IF almost every day (dependent on my work shifts) simply by including my sleep time as part of the fasting time. If I can do so, I schedule my last meal and first meal 12 hours apart. So I guess that’s a 12/12.

PS: If you edit the title of this post to include IF you will get the attention of people who might be able to offer advice about that and have knowledge/experience with possible side-effects like lack of energy and motivation.

Ok thanks! Hard to put down what I’m eating cause it’s different, but any meat, veggies, salads, ,cabbage soup I made, taco salads (no chips) it’s all low carb I’m. Probably 15-25 g carbs depending on day, and I don’t get the macro thing never did and still lost 50 LBS initially. I haven’t been doing IF last few days my woman monthly coming and just want to eat but all lc of course! So idk

Could just be you need to adapt again. There’s a difference between laziness and the fatigue you get when your body is switching its fuel source.

Ya that’s what I was thinking but 3 weeks!! And ya I’m older now and could b different this time around but last time I had energy up the wazoo guess I just wait it out

I feel like I get “fatigued” more easily if I’m low on sodium or not staying hydrated. Some days I just don’t want to drink water and I pay for it. It’s a sleepy time of year anyway, could post-holiday mid-winter be contributing?

How is the weather where you live? If you live in the upper half of the U.S. we are in the dead of winter and Vitamin D is in short supply. I’ve felt okay today, but it’s been raining here for a couple of days and it’s easy to let the dreary weather effect mood. Just a guess, but sunshine and warmth does a lot for the body.

(Allie) #10

It can take months for some people. Are you getting enough sodium etc?

(Tanya Au Coin) #11

I drink 3-5 32oz bottles so it’s not that, winter sounds like a thing for sure

(Tanya Au Coin) #12

I live in Canada it’s pretty mild right now but it’s rainy and I hate winter so this could very well b

(Tanya Au Coin) #13

This is first time this is happening, and I don’t know bout the sodium, I use pink salt I don’t shy away!

I’ve been super lazy lately but just chalked it up to winter  you may want to get your thyroid levels checked as some women find it hard to convert T4 to T3 on a very low carb diet and T3 is what gives you energy.

It’s been proven that warmer weather produces increased energy levels. Sunshine is an important aspect and unless you live in the south you probably don’t get enough in the winter. The couch and TV just look a little less appealing when the sun is shining through on a clear day. And research backs this up.

I live in the subtropics, and winter still knocks me on my ass. That dang sub makes a difference. And being 44. That knocks me on my ass as well.

Myself being 46 probably hurts more than anything. Lol. That and being 50 lbs overweight. If you have read BBS then being in “shape” has more to do with amount of energy required to move more than anything else. More weight requires more energy to move. That’s my other excuse. Lol

(Tanya Au Coin) #18

I hear ya there!!! Guess I’ll wait for nicer weather :joy:

(Tanya Au Coin) #19

I’m 44 toooo, ya winter is terrible for depression

I’ve been checked for stuff like that I don’t have anything wrong in that way, I’ll also chalk it up to winter, c how I feel come spring
