I’ve always been hot since teen.my mom is extreme cold .my therapist laughed when I said how will I know if I’m hot all the time lol

I’m 51 and have had periods stop for months at a time, only to have them return for a few months and then stop again. This is quite normal until they stop permanently.
Your age is appropriate for the beginning of what can take years to complete
That being said, it’s most unlikely that your cycle is being affected by keto. It’s true that hormones are affected, but I’ve never read anything, anywhere in the literature or the studies or the science that would even suggest keto causes menopause

I hope you find this helpful
Keep calm and keto on

Curious, is there some connection to ketosis and menopause???

(Leslie) #6

Go to drannacabeca.com where I found this
Along with living an alkaline lifestyle, one of the key principles of my Magic Menopause hormone reset program is eating a ketogenic-friendly diet. This diet puts your body in a fat-burning state called ketosis. My program’s Keto-Alkaline® Diet includes ketogenic methodologies.

There is no connection with keto and menopause but there are ways that keto makes menopause nicer.

I went through menopause at 42. I think early menopause tends to be inherited somehow.

I was done at 50. I doubt keto is doing it.

Did I lose track of what you are doing or what help you need? I’m sorry, I thought you were asking for information regarding keto and menopause. I apologize for the confusion

Weight loss can cause disruption to cycles though…breakthrough bleeding, periods at weird times. It can also make you more regular etc. I think being peri-menopausal adds a layer of complexity. I’m 48 and sort of just riding it out.

As for being cold…make sure you’re eating enough and getting enough fat. For me that can be a sign my basal metabolism is slowing down a bit if I’m in the midst of a fast. But ymmv!

I’ve definitely been generally colder as I’ve lost weight…I figure it’s because I’m losing my insulation.
