Labs!

I can’t remember who was asking for info regarding labs for someone transitioning to ZC from keto, but i got my labs back today and here are some of the highlights, I don’t really know much about how to interpret some of these:
CRP: .2
A1C (this seemed high to me for having been in keto for a while: 5.4
Total cholesterol 289 (I tend to run higher anyway)
Triglycerides: 40
HDL131
LDL 150
Chol/HDL ratio 2.2
Insulin: 2

Those are my lipid panel results, I got full sex hormone, and thyroid work ups along with other regular lab stuff. If anyone can help me interpret these that would be great! I know the low triglycerides are good, but I am kind of surprised at the A1C, is this indicative that I am doing something wrong?

sexy trigs on HDL
OMG your fasting insulin - I am so jealous. Mine is like 20.

A1C 5.4 may just be the same level for you that 5.2% is for me and 4.8% is for RD Dikeman. It all depends on how long your red blood cells live.

So you think my risk for things like diabetes and heart disease are relatively low? It is just strange to me to see the higher A1C coupled with the low insulin. My morning fasting BG is usually in the 70s or 80s. Sexy triglycerides!!! Hahah I love this group!!

Triglycerides / HDL gives you a very low risk of heart disease according to this cardiologist

Is that the same thing as the cholesterol/HDL ratio ?

no that’s total cholesterol over HDL which isn’t very diagnostic at all - but it pays the bills of people who have test equipment that can count LDL-c

I would only worry about Triglycerides / HDL which for you is 0.30
Under 2.0 is ideal

AWESOME!! I have watched the women in my family develop, suffer from and die from diabetes, and I swore I would never let that disease afflict me, and I knew in my heart even when I was young that their lifestyle was causing it and my genes were not dealing my fate of developing it as well. These labs and the support and feedback from this amazing group make me thrilled to have taken the steps I need to in order to keep myself healthy. Keto saves lives.

My last Triglycerides were 50, and HDL was 167 giving me a Trig:HDL ratio of 0.3.
