I have a red Ketonix breath ketone analyzer.
I’m just not sure if I’m using it properly.
When I blow into it all I get is continual green flashes. It just flashes green until I disconnect the battery.
I am not using the software.
Do I need to calibrate the device via the software first.
Have been doing a keto diet for nearly a month now and generally feel frustrated and unwell.
How many flashes (1 to 9) in the sequence after 45 sec tells you where in the colour range your levels are.
The sequence repeats until you disconnect it.
I recommend calibrating it on your computer.
Mine is often in the high yellow range.
As for feeling unwell make sure you are consuming 1-2 teaspoons of salt a day. Makes a world of difference.
Start with leaving it plugged in for a couple hours, then do a calibration. I had the USB and never got it to work correctly. Actually after months sending it back to ketonix this weekend. Mine would either give mo nothing at all, or 1 blue blink. Didn’t matter where in the spectrum my ketones were (checked via blood) I got what I got for that. Their customer service is beyond terrible and they just blame what you’re doing for everything wrong with it. I followed their FAQ for troubleshooting and they told me I was what was wrong with it basically and were trying everything not to give me an RMA to return it. Ketonix is in MD and I’m in VA, I told them if they didn’t take their crap back I’d be on their doorstep Monday morning, big surprise I’m getting my money back. With that said it seems many people have no issues with them and the older wired ones seem to not mess with people at all. I may get one of those because it’s an awesome thing to have but if you start feeling yours just isn’t working correctly, don’t let them tell you it is. Seems the USB version has a lot of dud’s out there. Good Luck.
