Ketones and diminishing returns

Why do they say that anything over levels of 3mmol/l of ketones in your blood has diminishing returns. The thing is also I can’t actually find out what is diminished by this “Diminishing returns” statement other than 1-3 mmol/l is the optimal state of ketosis .

Well, the bottom line is that it doesn’t matter. Are you in or are you not? That’s the important thing, the numbers are basically irrelevant.

Thanks juice. So as long as your in ,your in ,and as long as you don’t go under or over into ketoacidosis i should not be concerned about if i am doing it correctly.Nice.

This is not a concern unless you are diabetic, generally.

if measuring with a urine strip then all ketones are more than you need and are being peed out, so higher number is just extra excess. Ketones are telling you that you are not burning carbs you are burning fat, but you do not have to show ketones to still be burning fat.

Mine are normally over 3 (5.0 yesterday). I’m not really sure how to reduce them, or if I should.
I am of the opinion (for now) that everything seems to be going ok, so I will wait.

The main time you have to chase ketone (and blood sugar) levels is if you’re trying to fight cancer. Otherwise, what you get is what you get.

Yes so are mine regards bloos mmol\L.Reading the answers I got regards diminishing returns .I think the main response I infer is as long as it is working for the individual.-it does not matter whatever ketone levels are as long as they are there.
