Hello all, and happy weekend
Does anyone check their ketone level with blood? What is a good number. I checked mine and it always gives me reading of 0.03 and 0.04. What’s a optimal number

I’m here for a similar concern/interest.
Mine read as 4.6, which seems concerningly high.
Yours seems good though from what I understand 0.5-3.0 represents the small and the large end of where ketones should be for nutritional ketosis.
Oh whoops. I misread that (phone screens are hard) .03 and .04 are both rather low.
Where are your macros at?
Macros means macro nutrients. That’s carbs fats and protein. When someone’s asks about your macros they want the percentages of each you’re using. You can find that by tracking your foods.
It’s possible. It’s also possible other macros aren’t quiet where you want them. Too much protein can mess you up too. Your body needs a certain amount of protein anything over that is converted to sugar. That’s part of why they ask about your macros.
If you post the macros you’re going for and that looks good usually people will ask for sample menus to help them see what might be throwing you off. Could be hidden carbs or bad “low carb” bars or drinks or a sweetener you’re using etc. Getting a good idea exactly what you’re doing is probably the only way anyone can help
My rule of thumb is to add the Protein to the Carb grams and if that number is higher than the Fat grams of the food, I don’t eat it.
This keeps in mind that Protein increases insulin about half the amount that carbs do, which is significant.
