Ketone level drop?

hi all. first post here.

ive been intermittent fasting for years and love the benefits for bulking and cutting up. this year i decided to give keto fasting a try.
Things are going great. I’m a little tired now and then and my weight training is difficult at times but the fat is coming off at a decent rate.

my question is about blood ketone levels. i was steady at 1.8 for 3 weeks
(measured at the same time of the day). then out of the blue i dropped to 0.6 and have been for 7 days. nothing has changed with my diet or training. I’m around 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs (at most)
the only thing a have done different is I’ve been taking electrolyte tablets as i sweat alot in my job. the supplements are carb and sweetener free

anyone got any thoughts please?

How long have you been Keto? Is it possible your body is just getting more proficient so less ketones are showing in your blood? (I’m assuming your testing blood) I’ve read that weight training can lower ketone levels and raise glucose levels. I’m interested in this topic because I’m back to lifting and will show glucose readings of 100 or so after lifting fasted.

i have been keto for 4 weeks. my ketones drop to 0.4 after a workout but like you said its because my body is producing glucose for my muscles. i did think that perhaps I’m becoming adapted i just didn’t expect a sudden drop if that’s is whats happened

I would stop taking the electrolyte for a day and test again. Make sure that’s not it.
