Does anyone know anything about ketocon Austin? New to the forum and the lifestyle and trying to find out if it is a good way to get started.

I plan on being there. More details can be found at: https://www.ketocon.org/

I can answer specific questions, or attempt to answer them.

Yes…but did you see how expensuve. The only person I recognise so far is Megan Ramos and I know she would be great. I was just trying to see if it is a good place to get relevant information before I spend time and money. Very new to keto with three autistic children. Also my first time to use a forum. Probably not posting questions where I should.

I’m unclear as to whether you are doing the ketogenic diet for yourself, or interested in using it with your autistic children.

With that said, Dr. Ann Childers might be some help (she’ll be speaking), and Amy Berger may also be of some help. But, none of the direct lectures will be on that topic.

With that said, you might still find some help there.

I can also recommend the Facebook group named “Keto for Neuro (K4N)” as some of the members there also have children with autism.

If it’s purely a matter of cost, my wife and I would be happy to fund your ticket to Ketocon.

Best wishes to you and your children.

Too pricey for me, but I’m in Austin too.

This event is put on by Brian Wiliamson, owner of Ketovangelist and podcast of the same name. Great podcast BTW. Also has a podcast called Ketovangelist Kitchen with the wonderful Carrie (not Connie) Brown. Carrie has recently moved to CT and was rumored to have been seen dining with our very own @carl. What a wonderful world when all the keto peeps can get together!

I have been trying to do the diet…mostly by listening to 2 keto dudes podcasts while cleaning cooking and driving my kids around. But just today watched the Magic Pill and I am now super motivated to get this going for my kids in a major way. I am trying to switch my whole family but it is daunting as a single parent. My husband passed away of cholangiocarcinoma 4 years ago. He also had crohns and we have been on Specific Carbohydrate Diet for years. Hate to think the fruit and honey have sabotaged us for so long. I had started leaning on processed food for the last few years since I am overwhelmed. My kids have gotten worse. The three autistic kids are mostly on keto now…still learning but my other three kids are fighting it.

I would accept any help I can get.
