Keto --> US Army Job --> Have To Speed Things Up

#1

This is my first post here. Hello!
I am 44, 5ft 10in, 225lbs. KWOE since October 2017 (at that time I weighed 297lbs).
Trying to figure out the thing: I have a late (in my life) opportunity to join the US Army as an commissioned officer (professional thing).

I am working hard on my exercise (doing things with a trainer at a local gym and yes - there is a huge progress).
Now is the time when my medical records are being screened for potential non-waiverable things in my history (as of now there is nothing wrong with my health). The processing will hopefully start within 6 months.
I need to lose weight + gain even more strength
Things look promising - after a 3-months stall the weight started to go down (my limit is 192lbs but measuring my body with a tape will probably be used in my case).

Now the question:
How to tweak the Keto in order for me to speed up the process without sacrificing the strength/muscles and even gaining muscles? I am able to do crazy stuff at the crossfit sessions followed by lengthy cardio (floors around me are super-dripped with my sweat)

I do MRE Lite thing, Leucine, Kale powder (all supplements). I do electrolytes. I do salt.
I do IF (the 48-hr, 24-hr, 18/6)

What should I turn my attention to?

What about modifying the carbs intake (like TKD - right before the gym - 50ml of Maple syrup? or something?)

Please, tell me what to search for.

Sounds like you’re doing more than enough already, but:

  • Keep carbs under 20g/daily (no maple syrup!)
  • Keep protein moderate
  • Lower fat a bit if you’re fat adapted to lose body fat
  • I would do all different kinds of HIIT/sprints and endurance/distance: swim, run, bike
  • Also heavy lifting
Also, don’t go overboard, get plenty of rest/sleep.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #3

If you’re doing heavy lifting, you can probably afford to increase your protein a bit. That might help.
